Best Mothers Day EVER

What a crazy week it was the week of Mother's Day.  I had just had an awesome vacation with a few days off after...and then I started a new position.  It was busy, I felt like I had so much catching up to do! It was nice when Saturday FINALLY came.  My Step-Mom-In-Law, Tina took me and my Sister-In-Law Kristen, out to lunch the Saturday before Mother's Day.  We went downtown to a place called "The Wild Grape" they had breakfasty food and it was DELISH.  It was nice to have a girls lunch as that is something I never do.  It was nice to catch up with these lovely ladies.
 Such perfect weather that day.
After lunch I headed home..took a quick nap...went shopping for a First Communion Dress for Lauren and then we went grocery shopping.  Jamie had a friend sleepover, so he was in heaven.  I have a story to go along with that but I will save that for later....

Sunday we got up and went to church, then we headed to see DARK SHADOWS.  It was a cute movie and we all had a blast.  Then we went home for a quick second and headed out the door again.

Here is a picture of the two ricebags I made my mom.  Well, my friend Misty helped me out.  I made one of them really huge...so I hope it works right.  Mom seemed excited.
My mom said we would also be celebrating my sister Sarah's graduation from the University of Utah.  I decided to give her a black, red, and silver watch to celebrate her passing.  Woot woot!
 The front of the watch.
Before my mom's house..we decided to go see Matt's mom.  This picture is precious!  The kids each brought her a yellow pinwheel (her favorite color).
Lauren at the grave.
We miss her so much and think about her everyday.
We had sub sandwiches at my mom's house.  YUMMY.  My nephew Zander was cracking me up! He was so happy to see my kids...he was running all around and freely giving hugs.
Lauren took my camera and took pictures for me.  She got a few snaps of Jamie because he was pouting.  I simply told him...no veggies = no cookie.
 POUTY FACE.
I don't know how this picture got turned....Silly Matt!
 There is the handsome fella!
She got one of me too.

Park City Girls Trip!

My sisters came up with this great idea to give my mom an overnight, big-girls only, Park City get-a-way for Mother's Day! I was 100% on board! Once again, I am a FAILURE at taking pictures. I thought I would share the few I did remember to take. Here we all are, ready to take off on our adventure! My mom and sisters are soo cute! Look how tall I look at a whopping 5 foot 3 and a half!!!
I am so lucky to have them as my mom and sisters and FRIENDS!!

Matt had to work until 6, so..my Dad watched the kids until he got off. My kids LOVE their grandpa, I left them with a bag of Black Licorice and they were all in heaven, I think.

My kids were acting so sad that morning when I was packing, it was so sweet!

So we arrived at Park City, and had lunch at Squatters. We tried Fried Pickles for the first time, very yummy!!!

And that ends my pictures! See, I am a bad picture taker! It was cold and snowy there, so we didn't get to do any fun walking around or anything like that. We did go see Bridesmaids, and I loved that. Mainly we hung around, and ate junk food, and visited, and enjoyed doing NOTHING. A rare treat for me. I can't say enough how lucky I am to have such wonderful people in my life!! I hope this is a new tradition!

To get me started

Oh where oh where has my little blog been?
Missed me? Well, I have been spending much of the past couple of weeks preparing for my little vacation. I feel like I haven't had much time to do anything! And gee, I had gotten so good at updating my blog. Well, I will try to start at the beginning before I blog about the vacation.

Before we left on Saturday-Lauren BEGGED me to open her present. It was my only Mother's Day card or present and it was PRICELESS. I didn't help her at all with the card or the spelling and I loved what she came up with. I also love that I can now scan and share in all its glory!
I love how she spelled "entire"! She is getting to be such a good little artist.

I had printed this on the Scentsy website and she colored it. It is "Lenny" her lamb that she loves.

I spent my Mother's Day in Newport Beach California. Details to come.

First Half of May

The end of April and into May has been busy busy busy. I am excited that the weather is starting to get a little bit warmer, FINALLY.

The last week of April, my mom's youngest sister, Anita and her husband Howard, came to visit us from Louisiana. We LOVE when they come to visit! I wish that I got to see them more often! AND I wish I had taken more pictures...but here is a cute shot of the two of them.

Our cat, Oreo, cracks me UP! I bought her some yarn, and now this is what we wake up to some mornings, look, I even caught the little pest in the shot (see if you can spot her).

We were lucky enough to get play-off tickets from Matt's work. They are awesome seats and I was so excited to go. My favorite player is #24, Paul Milsap. He always tries so hard and is so humble (plus he is from Louisiana).

My favorite player used to be Fisher, but now he plays for the Lakers...so I can't really cheer for him. He reminds me of my brother a little bit, not quite sure why. Well, it was cool to see all the big name players in person!!

There was this annoying Laker fan in front of me...I kept wanting to punch him! I think many Laker fans are just band-wagoners! I am a Jazz fan in good times and in bad!! I hope one day to be a season ticket holder and attend ALL the games...although we probably won't be able to afford the awesome seats that Discover Card has. AND this will be the last time we get to sit in these seats as they will not have them next year, boo!

Here is a picture of Matt's boss Steve and his daughter, Lauren. It was great to be able to enjoy the game with them.

The 4th quarter was SOOO suspensful, I was a nervous wreck....here are our panicked faces!!!

And here is a picture of HEARTBREAK!! I was so devastated when we lost! We were in the lead the whole game until the very end and then to lose by ONE measely point! The Jazz always seem to JUST miss it. I am still feeling the ache of our losses at the Finals in the late 90s. :(

The next day was Mother's Day...this is what was waiting for me in the morning. Aww...flowers and the first season of Glee on DVD. I love it!!!

Here is a pic of me and the kiddos. They are the best things in the entire world!!

Here is me and my best little buddy! I love this little girl SOOO dang much!

Here is me and the hubs (and Lauren's fancy picture taking).

Here is me and my sweet, handsome boy...Jamie.

We decided to go see Iron Man 2. On the way we stopped to visit Matt's mom. It has been almost 3 years. We think about her every day and miss her so very much. I wonder what comments she would make about my little troublemaking boy!

Lauren was sweet to comfort her dad. That's my girl!

After the movie, we went to a park. The kids had a blast! Look at the cheesers!

Matt was being silly with the kids, it melted my heart to see everyone so happy!

Jamie thought it was so funny to have Matt tickle him! Awww...

My beautiful girl!

I love pictures taken from the back, I wanted to always remember my "little" guy and his cute little butt.

After the park, we went to my mom's house for a BBQ. Here are the kids, sitting on the present my brother and I gave her.

And here is the whole gang...minus Ashley taking the pic.

Matt snapped a pic for us too...

Here is my cute little sister Sarah and her cat, Zoe.

Me, my mom, Sarah, oh and Jamie...he wanted in the pic too.

Me, my mom, and my two sisters, and Jamie again too..silly boy. Ashley is pregnant and due at the end of July. I can't wait to meet little Zander!

Here is me and my folks. The best parents, and grandparents, ever!

All and all, it was a great day. I hope the other mothers had a great day too!

I am still a little shocked that it is May and it is half-way over..time sure flies, when you are having fun! Bring on that Summer fun...I think that I am ready for it.
