Park City Girls Trip!

My sisters came up with this great idea to give my mom an overnight, big-girls only, Park City get-a-way for Mother's Day! I was 100% on board! Once again, I am a FAILURE at taking pictures. I thought I would share the few I did remember to take. Here we all are, ready to take off on our adventure! My mom and sisters are soo cute! Look how tall I look at a whopping 5 foot 3 and a half!!!
I am so lucky to have them as my mom and sisters and FRIENDS!!

Matt had to work until 6, so..my Dad watched the kids until he got off. My kids LOVE their grandpa, I left them with a bag of Black Licorice and they were all in heaven, I think.

My kids were acting so sad that morning when I was packing, it was so sweet!

So we arrived at Park City, and had lunch at Squatters. We tried Fried Pickles for the first time, very yummy!!!

And that ends my pictures! See, I am a bad picture taker! It was cold and snowy there, so we didn't get to do any fun walking around or anything like that. We did go see Bridesmaids, and I loved that. Mainly we hung around, and ate junk food, and visited, and enjoyed doing NOTHING. A rare treat for me. I can't say enough how lucky I am to have such wonderful people in my life!! I hope this is a new tradition!

How do you spell that?

I am not sure how I feel about my daughter getting 103% on her spelling test, yet failing to spell her OWN name right......
We do study her weekly words every day, but I guess I have neglected the regulatory quizes on her name. I guess we have some work to do.

Post 9

I haven't forgotten about my 30 post project. Good thing I didn't try to do this in 30 days, I would have been a total failure.

Post 9: Ten songs that come up on iPod shuffle. Well-this is my spin on things since I don't own an Ipod. I discovered Pandora recently and I fell in love. I even cancelled my way too expensive XM membership. My favorite channel is the 80's channel. Here are the first 15 songs that came up on Pandora.

1) In the Air Tonight-Phil Collins
I just love this song, especially that powerful drum solo.
2) Don't Dream It's Over-Crowded House
This song reminds me of the movie The Stand, it plays in a scene with Molly Ringwald and I have always thought of it since then.
3) When Doves Cry-Prince
Prince is amazing. This song reminds me of the movie Purple Rain and that movie reminds me of my brother. He was a fan and we watched this movie a million times.
4) Owner of a Lonely Heart-Yes
I love the "Ows" in the song and the rippin guitar solos
5) I Love Rock and Roll-Joan Jett
This song reminds me of being in Elementary School
6) Everyone Wants to Rule the World-Tears for Fears
Tears for Fears is one of those quintasential 80's bands, awesome
7) Sweet Child O'Mine-Guns and Roses
My brother used to have the basement to himself and he had this awesome stereo system and when he was out on the weekends, I would go down there and listen to his music. He had this 2 part CD and I used to jam out to this CD. This song reminds me of him and of that time.
8) Eye of the Tiger-Survivor
This reminds me of my 10th grade Chemistry teacher, what a dork..he used to turn off the lights, play this song, and do experiments in front of the class. In retrospective I am sure he was just trying to get us excited about science-but all it did was make me laugh.
9) Jessie's Girl-Rick Springfield
Another classic 80s tune..I love the line "I feel so guilty when they start talking cute, I wanna tell her that I love her but the point is probably mute"
10)Every Little Thing She Does is Magic-The Police
The Police is one of my favorite bands, their greatest hits CD is awesome. My favorite song is "King of Pain"...but I LOVE this song too..especially after last year's So You Think You Can Dance's performance to this song.
Check it out at:

11) You Spin Me-Dead or Alive
This reminds me of a time with my cousin's Jessica and Stephanie-riding the Music Express at Lagoon...how appropriate is that
12) Take On Me-Aha
This has to be one of THE songs of the 8o's. The song reminds me of the ground breaking video, and the lead singer who looks like Val Kilmer...so this song reminds me of Val Kilmer
13)867-5309-Tommy Tutone
The only phone number we ALL know
14)Any Way You Want It-Journey
Not my favorite Journey song, but Journey rocks
15)Rebel Yell-Billy IdolThis song demonstrates what I love about 80's music, the tempo changes. I love how the song starts out slow and then gets stronger and more powerful.

To get me started

Oh where oh where has my little blog been?
Missed me? Well, I have been spending much of the past couple of weeks preparing for my little vacation. I feel like I haven't had much time to do anything! And gee, I had gotten so good at updating my blog. Well, I will try to start at the beginning before I blog about the vacation.

Before we left on Saturday-Lauren BEGGED me to open her present. It was my only Mother's Day card or present and it was PRICELESS. I didn't help her at all with the card or the spelling and I loved what she came up with. I also love that I can now scan and share in all its glory!
I love how she spelled "entire"! She is getting to be such a good little artist.

I had printed this on the Scentsy website and she colored it. It is "Lenny" her lamb that she loves.

I spent my Mother's Day in Newport Beach California. Details to come.
