Coming along nicely

This week has been another exciting week for our homebuilding. We have been busy packing up the old house, and getting things ready for our move. On Friday, my mom had Lauren overnight, so Matt and I took a little break and had a mini-date night, and by that I mean, we took our little mini-boy out to dinner with us to Red Lobster. Jamie was very interested in the lobster tank:
I love the little curious boy look:
The hostess even let Jamie touch the lobster!
They did a lot on the house this week, I hope you don't mind all of the photos, I LOVE my digital camera, and I get so excited about the little things that get accomplished each week. Our granite counter-tops were installed...I just LOVE to touch them!
One of the chandeliers arrived, Matt picked these out without me and I think he did a great job:
The tile and the showerhead are in, and we have running water:
The finish we chose is called "Oil Rubbed Bronze", much better than the brass that I currently have. I also really like the door handles, Matt let me pick them out:
The Corian in the guest bathroom was installed:
Another shot of the kitchen:
The mantle and the tile around the fireplace were done, I can't wait to hang our Christmas stockings from them:
A full shot of the Master Bathroom, Jamie is already learning how the handles work:
A closeup of the granite (it is the same in the kitchen and the Master Bath), the one we chose is called Giallo Santo:
The duel sinks in the master bath, Matt wanted it to be furniture style that was adult height, both upgrades:
The toilet room, or water closet as it is formally called:
The lights, and the medicine cabinet in the Master Bath:
A view of the Living Room, from the loft:
A view of the front door from the loft:
The kids' bathroom:
Their Corian countertops, I have never had Corian before, but I think it looks super cool:
After the whole "tile-theft" setback, they finally finished laying ALL of the tile:
The sink in the laundry room, an upgrade that I wanted:
The appliances waiting to be installed...it doesn't take much to get me excited:

They also installed the fence in our backyard, they are still working on the lake pretty much all day every day, I wonder what it will look like when they are done.

Our sinks in the kitchen, Mia, the designer, talked me into getting off-set sinks:
The hallway into Lauren's bedroom, the only hallway in the entire house:

Well, that about does it for last week's progress. Today they were putting in the carpet, BUT my battery died....so I will have to save those photos until next post. Until then...we are anxiously awaiting our closing date of December 1. WOO-HOO!!!

Too busy to blog?!

This week has been an eventful one. Sorry I haven't blogged in a while! I was only able to blog today because Jamie had a sore tummy and a sore butt, so I called into work (thank goodness for 35 days of PTO!). I was able to catch up on other's blogs, and here are a few photos over the past week.

Here is a picture of our dog Pepper, I tried to not get the "red eye" but, alas..here is her best shot. She turns 13 this month:
We got invited to the annual "Gowers Halloween Gala" on October 32 (he he he), Matt reluctantly got dressed up as a Sumo Wrestler. He ended up wearing this for all of 5 minutes!!!
I went as a "Geisha Girl", this was one of the most comfortable costumes ever, except for the itchy wig:
Bree's house is decorated AWESOME for the yearly event. We got there too late to see Robbie and Bree in costume.... :( These are our neighbors, Jenn and Elliot...Jenn was an 80's chick, and Elliot dressed as our other neighbor Steve (it was hillarious for all of us who know and love Steve)....Jenn and Bree are both pregnant, we are so excited for them both and how lucky they will have babies around the same time! Yipee! I am going to miss the Wakefield Way gang SOOO much!!!
This is Steve's brother Jamie and his wife Mindy...as John McCain and Sarah Pallin. Wow, what a resemblence!! They won for best couple, sorry...I can't show you their prizes..this is a PG blog!
More finishing touches on the house this week...they poured our steps (luckily one day before it snowed):
They are still working on the lake:
They painted the house, and the railing:
This is a better picture of the paint, although it looks more yellow in this picture than it really is. The trim and the doors are painted too:
We have the steps out of the walk-out:
It snowed for the first time this week, and the mountains looked so beautiful, I had to take a few shots with my new camera, these pictures don't even do it justice! Anyone from Louisiana ready to come and ski?
This was what we woke up to Thursday morning, this is our backyard:
And our front yard:
One of the most exciting things this week...the cabinets came in! I LOVE THEM!
On Saturday we went to visit Kristin and Dave and their Boxer Sadie:
Sadie was very excited to see us!
On Saturday night we went to a Silent Auction benefiting my old church, St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church. They are trying to raise money for a new church, although it would be sad to see the church I have attended almost all of my life go away, it would be nice to have a brand new church, since the old one is over 50 years old. We had so much fun this night, I won 3 of my bids and got some early Christmas shopping done. Here is a picture of us:
Matt's sister, Kristen and her husband, David also attended the "Night Out with the Stars":
This is Matt's stepbrother, Stephen and his boyfriend Collin. Stephen was responsible for the theme and the ideas for the decor...great job Stephen!
This is a picture of the nun I have known almost all of my life, Sister Fabian, along with one of Tina's best friends, Gina:
Here is Matt with some of the "celebrities", he actually bid and won the James Dean standup which can presently be seen in his office at work:
Here is Matt's dad Leo and his wife Tina, they sure made the night enjoyable! Thanks guys!
We sure got the V.I.P treatment at the "Oscar" table:

Well, that about sums up the exciting events of the week. Like I mentioned above, I stayed home from work to stay with Jamie and Lauren today. Despite being sick, my little boy caused some little boy trouble, he learned to climb to the top of the couch and jump down to the cushions (mind you he is only 18 months old!), he put a fake spider inside the VCR jamming it up (luckily I was able to fix it), he got to the paper shredder and scattered shredded paper ALL over my bedroom...that stuff is the hardest to vacuum up!, AND Matt and I just caught him dipping a cup into the toilet and drinking it! (maybe that is where the sore tummy came from!) EWWWW!! I myself grew up with two little sisters, and Lauren was a zero trouble toddler so all of this BOY stuff is confusing to me. He is fun, but he is sure a troublemaker....I should have gotten some pictures of his mischief!!! Maybe next time!
