We woke up very early to head up to Syracuse for a walk in support of the disease Scleroderma, the disease that we lost Matt's mom to. It is always great to see other people who understand what we have been through. Lauren loves any opportunity to see her cousin, Isabella. They were almost inseparable all day!
Here is Matt and his mom's best friend Jewel, she was there to walk with us. Suzanne and Jewel were friends since they were little girls. It is always nice to get to see her, she is like part of the family!
Matt's brother Greg, his wife Alex and their two daughters (Isabella and Madeleine) also came up.
Jewel's daughter, Kim, also joined us for the walk. She lives in Syracuse.
Here is a picture of Matt, Jamie and me after the walk.
After the walk, we headed back home to West Valley for the West Fest Parade. I didn't take too many pictures, but I did enjoy my first West Fest Parade and the kids loved chasing after the candy. It was fun to be able to walk to the parade from our house and the parade was the best one I have been to in a long time.
After the parade and lunch, we came home for a nap...Lauren was so pooped she crashed on the ottoman! I just had to snap a shot:
After our nice nap, we met Greg and Alex and the kids for dinner and we headed to the West Fest Carnival, another first for me. The kids had a blast and it was so wonderful to see the kids having so much fun! I've never seen Jamie enjoying himself so much...and yet he was so serious because most rides involved a steering wheel and he is all about anything car-related!
Here are the three kids riding together in a fire engine...

My niece, Maddy enjoyed from the sidelines, she just loved looking at the lights. She is such a sweet, happy, and easygoing baby with a ton of hair and gorgeous blue eyes.

Wow, what a busy day! That's so cool that you went to walk for Suzanne...that will be a great family tradition. The carnival looks like a blast, too! Lauren's nap picture cracks me up and I LOVE that Jamie's so into cars...just like his Daddy, right?
Good to see pictures! I love the one of you and Jamie
That sure looks like a great day!
What a fun, wild day! I am surprised that you still have mascara on your eyes come night-fall. Pretty impressive. I am glad that you could have such a memorable day with your crew.
